GST Payment Using UPI: From 18th January 2024 onwards taxpayers can made taxpayment using UPI. This facility is only available for 10 States/UTs.
Before 18th January 2024, many time taxpayers facing issue of tax payment via GST portal when using net banking, debit card, credit card etc. To resolve this issue government has introduced UPI system for GST tax liability payments. This will ensure that government receive their funds (in the form of tax) on timely basis.
Some time government extended due dates due to improper functioning of payment gateway system, resulting delay in collection of taxes. So now the taxpayers have multiple options to make payments.
This information is not notified by the CBIC, but as per the latest tweet of GST Tech @Infosys_GSTN that now taxpayers can make GST payment using UPI.
Now GST payments can also be made through UPI via @KotakBankLtd. @UPI_NPCI @NPCI_NPCI

- Assam
- Delhi
- Goa
- Gujarat
- Haryana
- Himanchal Pradesh
- Kerala

UPI Payment:
Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is an instant real-time payment system developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to facilitate inter-bank transactions. It allows users to link multiple bank accounts into a single mobile application, and enables seamless fund transfers, bill payments, and merchant payments. UPI has gained popularity for its round-the-clock availability, secure transactions, and user-friendly interface, making it a preferred method for digital payments in India.
To make a UPI payment, you can follow these steps:
- Choose UPI App: Install and set up a UPI-enabled app from your bank or a third-party provider.
- Create Account: Set up your account by linking your bank account to the UPI app.
- Set UPI PIN: Create a UPI Personal Identification Number (PIN) to secure your transactions.
- Initiate Payment: Select the option to “Send Money” or “Make Payment” within the app.
- Enter Details: Enter the recipient’s UPI ID, amount, and a brief message (if required).
- Verify Transaction: Review the details and confirm the payment using your UPI PIN.
- Transaction Confirmation: Once verified, the payment is processed instantly and you’ll receive a confirmation of the transaction.
Remember to ensure that the recipient is also registered with UPI to receive the payment seamlessly.
