Learn How To Reset Income Tax E-Filing Password?

Our daily life is full of passwords so it is difficult to remember them all, Many times it may happen that we also forgot passwords unless we properly recorded them. If you forgot your Income Tax e-filing password, then “Not to worry” we are here to help you.

Let’s start to Reset E-filing Password

Using Aadhar OTP

Note:

To generate Aadhaar OTP, Taxpayer’s PAN and Aadhaar must be linked.

Taxpayer’s mobile number must be registered with UIDAI means linked with Aadhar.

1.Visit the e-filing portal From the top right side click on “Reset” under “Forgot Password?”

2.Reset Password Screen will appear, under which you need to input User ID *(PAN), Captcha Code and click on “Continue Button”.

3. Select an option from the drop-down available ‘Using Aadhaar OTP’ and click on the “CONTINUE” button.


4. Reset Password using Aadhaar OTP screen will appear, in that click on “Generate Aadhar OTP”.

5. Aadhaar OTP will be generated and sent to the Mobile Number registered
with Aadhaar. Enter the Aahaar OTP received and click on the “VALIDATE”
button. The Aadhaar OTP is validated
.

6. After Successful Aadhar OTP Validation, enter the New Password
and confirm the password, click on “SUBMIT”

Once the password has been changed a success message will be displayed. Login with the new password.


Reset Password using the ‘e-Filing Login through Net Banking’

1.Visit the e-filing portal. From the top right side click on “Login Here” under “Registered User?”. After that click on “e-Filing Login Through NetBanking”.

2. “e-Filing Login Through NetBanking” screen will appear from that screen to select the bank to which you have access to your net banking.

When you select your bank new popup will come “Disclaimer” in that click on the “Confirm” button and you will be directed to your net banking login.

Enter your bank credential to Login to your net banking. Click on the “e-Filing” link available in the Net Banking page.

3. You will be redirected and logged in to the e-Filing Portal

4. Click on “Change Password” from “Profile Settings”

5. Enter the New Password and Confirm the password

6. Click on “Submit”

Success message will appear.

Reset Password using the ‘Upload digital signature certificate’

1.Visit the e-filing portal. From the top right side click on “Reset” under “Forgot Password?”

2.Reset Password Screen will appear, under which you need to input User ID *(PAN), Captcha Code and click on “Continue Button”.

3.Select an option from the drop-down available ‘Upload DSC’ and click on the “CONTINUE” button.

3. Select any one of the two options provided:
I. New DSC II. Registered DSC

4. Upload Signature File generated using DSC Management Utility and
click on the “VALIDATE” button. The DSC is validated

5. On success, enter the New Password and confirm the password. Click on “SUBMIT”

A success message will be displayed. Login with the new password.
