How to Insert or Delete Columns, and Rows in Excel?

How to Insert Column?

To insert a single column in between the data, select the column and go to the “Home” tab,

under the “Cells” group click on the “Insert” option dropdown list will appear in that select “Insert Sheet Columns“. Like this:


Insert Column Via Shortcut Key

To insert a column via a shortcut key, press “CTRL + Spacebar” to select the column and hold the “CTRL” key and press the “+” key, let’s see


Insert Multiple Column

To insert columns via a shortcut key, press “CTRL + Spacebar” to select the column and hold the “CTRL” key and press the “+” key

For inserting multiple columns hold the “CTRL” key and press the “+” key number of times,

For e.g if you want to insert two-column press it 2 times for 3 column press it 3 times like this:


Delete Column

To delete a column in between the data, select the column and go to the “Home” tab,

under the “Cells” group click on the “Delete” option dropdown list will appear in that select “Delete Sheet Columns“. Like this:

How to Insert Row?

To insert row select the row and under “Home” tab in the “Cells” group click on the “Insert”

Select the option “Insert Sheet Rows” like this:

How to Delete Row?

If you are working in excel and in the between data you want to delete a row.

Select that row and go to “Home” tab under the “Cells” group select the option “Delete Sheet Rows”. Let’s see

To delete row via a shortcut key, press “SHIFT + Spacebar” to select the row and hold the “SHIFT” key and press the “-“ key, let’s see
