What is EPF Passbook?

EPF passbook is like a bank passbook that contains details of all the contributions made by the employer and employee in the EPF and EPS account.

In this passbook, you can also see the details of withdrawal made the same as the bank passbook.

Steps to Download EPF Passbook

To download your EPF passbook you need to visit the ‘EPFO | Member Passbook’ and log in after that you can download it.

Step1: Visit EPFO Member Passbook

Visit the ‘https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/Login’, it will look like this

Step2: Enter the Credential to Login

Enter the Universal Account Number (UAN), password, security code, and click on the ‘Login’ button as shown below

Step3: View Passbook

After login you need to select the member ID (Any person can have more than one member ID) and click on the ‘View Passbook’ as shown below

After click on the view passbook, you can see your EPF balance and withdrawal amount as shown below

Step4: Download the Passbook

As you click on the ‘View Passbook’ there is an option to download the passbook. To download the passbook you need to click on the ‘Download Passbook’ option the new popup will open click on the ‘Download File’ button your passbook will be downloaded as shown below

Select the option where you want to save it will be downloaded in PDF format. You can select the financial year and download your passbook.

Important Points to Remember

1. This facility is to view the Member Passbook for the members registered on the Unified Member Portal.

2. Passbook will be available after 6 Hours of registration at Unified Member Portal.

3. Changes in the credentials at Unified Member Portal will be effective at this Portal after after 6 Hours.

4. Passbook will have the entries which has been reconciled at the EPFO field offices.

5.  Passbook facility not be available for the Exempted Establishments Members / Settled Members / InOperative Members.
