Decision of the Supreme Court on exams- CBSE & ICSE

On Friday 26th June, 2020 The Supreme Court of India accepted the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) assessment scheme presented on before it.

The CBSE board Prepared the assessment scheme due to the cancellation of CBSE Class 10th and 12th examination in India.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic the CBSE board examination have been cancelled. The Supreme Court expressed its satisfaction on this CBSE scheme. Via notification CBSE gave the details on how assessment is to be done to award marks to students in subjects for which tests are not to be held.

The ICSE board also informed the apex court that it will follow the scheme framed by CBSE board except it would have to give option to both Class X and XII students to take the test that would be conducted in future.

CBSE and ICSE boards have assured the court that the result would be declared by July 15.

What is CBSE Assessment scheme ?

*For the students of both class 10th and 12th class, who have completed all their examinations, their result will be declared based on their performance.

*For the students who have appeared in the examinations in more than three subjects, the average of the marks obtained in the best three performing subjects will be awarded in the subjects whose examinations have not been conducted.

*For students who have appeared in the examinations in only three subjects, the average of the marks obtained in the best two performing subjects will be awarded in the subjects whose examinations have not been conducted.

*There are very few students of class 12th, mainly from Delhi, who have appeared in the examinations in only 1 or 2 subjects. Their result will be declared based on the performance in the appeared subjects and performance in the Internal/Practical/ Project assessment. Those students will also be allowed to appear in the optional examination conducted by the CBSE to improve their performance, if they desire to do so, Result of these students will also be declared along with the other students.
