Copy Folder Names in Excel

In excel you can learn every day something new. Today I’m sharing that I learned from the problem that I faced in excel.

I got data from my team on OneDrive that contains folder names with clients bank account number, so I want that number in excel as shown below:

So you think just select all the files, copy it and paste it into excel. You can try it if that works please also let me know.

To do that first select all the folders and hold the SHIFT key + Click the right side of mouse – you will think nothing new but here you need to be careful you will find the new option “Copy as Path” click on that and paste it into Excel as below shown:

Now Paste it into Excel:

Now you can see it works but data is not proper. To make it right you need to use find and replace.

first copy the data before the number like above E:\ and press “CTRL +F” paste it into find what and click on Replace and finally click on the “Replace all” you will see the only numbers are visible, because path is removed.

If after replace data is not in proper format convert it into number format.

In this way you can easily copy it in excel. If you have any query please leave it in the below comment box.
